Delivering gender justice in academia through gender equality plans? Normative and practical challenges

This paper employs the concept of epistemic justice to examine potential for gender equality plans (GEPs) bring about sustainable transformative change towards in higher education. Mindful both limitations and opportunities policy interventions, highlights importance approaching inequality as a problem power rather than an issue “loss talent.” The draws on Fricker's account well Bourdieu's analysis academic field, evaluate seven GEPs European universities their transform gender–power relations academia. reveals that insufficient attention is paid role creating injustice at all institutional levels organizational culture perpetuation inequalities those settings. study suggests incorporation lens creation would address gendered relationships lead equitable outcomes.
